Nothing is worse than intense mouth pain — but we imagine that a sore tooth is even more painful when you’re on stage singing your heart out. And it looks like LeAnn Rimes agrees with us! After facing a bout of bad luck, the ‘Give’ hitmaker had to cancel a series of shows while she suffered some major tooth pain and prepared for an eight-hour dental procedure.

Rimes was scheduled to appear in New Philadephia, Ohio, last Thursday (July 26), which would have been followed by a performance in Carmel, Ind. the next night. Unfortunately, unbearable mouth pain derailed her touring plans, and Rimes ended up in the dentist’s office at 8:30PM on Wednesday night (July 25).

“Dentist office at 8:30pm. Crazy out of my mind pain. Can’t deal at all!!!!” she tweeted from the dentist’s chair.

About an hour later, the popular songstress took to Twitter to inform followers that she still hadn’t gotten her mouth pain under control.

“Waiting on the endodontist to meet me and do a nighttime root canal,” she posted. “This is one of the craziest things I’ve ever been through. Trying to keep my mind off the pain & what’s about to happen by saying hi to you guys. Life does not work on the right schedule sometimes. This is such bad timing!!!!!… Wish me luck.”

Unfortunately, poor Rimes isn’t affected by Novocaine and other numbing agents. After receiving several shots, she still wasn’t feeling — or not feeling, that is. “I got 3 shots in the roof of my mouth & 1 Insane shot directly into the half dead, half Alive nerve through the hole he drilled on the backside of my tooth. That was after the 7 shots in the front of my mouth that didn’t phase (sic) me. I can’t get numb so the lengths they must go to in order to get me there are nuts,” she wrote, using so many characters that her message spilled over the 140-character limit.

Finally, the ‘Blue’ hitamker was able to turn in for the night, but her pain continued to be so intense that she stayed in bed and on the couch watching the Olympics all weekend. “So sorry to my sweet fans. We’ll make it up any show missed as soon as we can. I’m in bed, have been & trying to alleviate the pain,” she shared.

Later on, Rimes revealed that she had scheduled an eight-hour procedure to repair her half-deteriorated tooth root on Monday morning (July 30). Hopefully the surgery will put the country star back on the right track, but not before causing her to miss her shows at Ohio’s Lancaster Festival over the weekend.

Anyone who’s had a root canal knows that it’s anything but fun. Our thoughts are with Rimes as she recovers from today’s surgery!
