American Idol‘ has been featuring some of their successful alums in recent episodes, with names like Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina taking the stage as of late to show this season’s hopefuls just what a career in music can look like. Now, another ‘Idol’ country success story — Kellie Pickler — is gearing up to take the stage, and she announced the news over Twitter… but without giving everything away to her fans right away.

Tuesday night (April 3), Pickler hit Twitter and simply said, “I’m so excited to let y’all know first, this Thursday,” and then nothing after that. While fans may have thought Pickler simply ran out of allotted characters in her message, that wasn’t the case. She was just letting the anticipation build. Five minutes later, she again just posted a portion of a message, this time just one word — “that…”

With the message still unfinished, Pickler waited 3 more minutes before excitedly tweeting “…I’LL BE SINGING ON THE STAGE THAT IT ALL STARTED ON, AMERICAN IDOL!! YEEE-HAW!!” For the enthusiasm alone, that last part of the message seemed to be well worth the wait for wondering fans. Though Pickler didn’t take home the ‘Idol’ title, she did come in sixth in Season 5, which proved to be enough to serve as a springboard for her career.

In honor of the ACM Awards last week, Pickler was one of the country stars who was given the opportunity to co-host the ‘Today’ Show with Hoda Kotb while Kathie Lee Gifford was out. Others who took to the ‘Today’ Show included Josh Turner, Lee Brice, Randy Travis and more.

Catch Pickler’s ‘Idol’ performance Thursday night (April 5) at 8PM ET on FOX.
