This Christmas season is extra special for Kacey Musgraves, who purchased her first house earlier this year. While the singer is spending the next few weeks on the road for her A Very Kacey Christmas Tour, she is also looking forward to being at home, decorating for the holidays.

“I have my first house this year, that I actually own, so it’s going to be fun for me to get in and decorate it,” she told members of the media recently (quote via Sounds Like Nashville). “But I’ve actually been going through some renovations, like knocking down walls, so right now it looks like a war zone. There’s dust everywhere and it’s pretty terrible looking, so hopefully by the holidays, it’s wrapping up.”

While Musgraves' tour may delay her decorating this season, the singer admits that once she does transform her new pad for the holidays, she just may keep her home festive all year long.

“I’m somebody who will leave their decorations up way too long so I think my Christmas tree might turn into a Valentine’s tree, which might turn into a Fourth of July tree, and then a birthday tree and then we’re back at Christmas. So, convenient really,” she adds.

In October, Musgraves released her first-ever holiday album, titled A Very Kacey Christmas. The album features guests the Quebe Sisters, Willie Nelson and Leon Bridges.
