Josh Abbott got his start in Lubbock, Texas. He was an undergrad at Texas Tech; just lacking his thesis to acquire his Masters Degree when he gave it all up for his passion. I'm all for education but sometimes a passion pulls you in other directions. Josh decided to follow that passion and make music.

Josh and the band (his fraternity brothers) started playing together in 2006 but didn't release their first demo until 2007. The song 'Taste' was the first release from the demo. It was, and still is, my favorite tune from Josh.

However, their first full album 'Scapegoat ' wasn't released until spring of 2008. Their sophomore album, 'She's Like Texas' was released 2 years later with a song called 'Touch' already creating a lot of buzz for the band. From that point on Josh has been a constant on the Texas Music Scene.

His third album 'Small Town Family Dream' was released in 2012 and was a salute to small communities all over Texas. Josh has a way of connecting to his audience, he's one of them. You can walk up and talk to Josh, have a beer with him. He's down to earth and loves his fans as much as they love him.

He's building quite a portfolio of music, writing much of it himself. Songs like 'Taste' and 'Touch' that are emotional and passionate, to songs like 'She's Like Texas' and 'My Texas' that celebrate our great State. His music is reflective of the everyday man and woman that attend his shows.

Don't forget you can see Josh right here in Abilene on May 31 when he kicks off our Taste of Country Summer Concert Series at the Lucky Mule.
