Johnny Cash's visit with impeached president Richard Nixon will be the subject of an episode of the forthcoming Netflix docuseries ReMastered. According to Deadline, Cash's visit to the White House in 1970 will be the subject of the series' second installment, titled "Tricky Dick and the Man in Black." "Concerned by a rising rock 'n' roll influence on a growing liberal fanbase, President Nixon invited Johnny Cash to the White House to solidify his base in the traditionally more conservative genre of country music," reads the episode's description. "What Cash did instead was subversive and surprised everyone." Cash's episode of ReMastered is set to debut on the streaming platform in November.

Blake Shelton has been selected as the recipient of Country Radio Seminar's 2019 Artist Humanitarian Award, in recognition of his charitable efforts in his home state of Oklahoma. "He continually gives back to his hometown of Tishomingo, to the children’s hospital in Oklahoma City and so much more. But it’s what he does on a daily basis that really sticks out to me," says John Esposito, chairman and CEO of Shelton's record label, Warner Music Nashville. "He will send us an email about something he’s read and say, ‘I want to do this to help this person.’ And I think Blake has helped more stranded motorists than Triple A -- but that’s just his character. He’s a humanitarian every day." Shelton will receive his honor on the first day of CRS 2019; the annual radio industry event is scheduled for Feb. 13-15 in Nashville.
