John David Kent is keeping busy these days. Between playing in France, booking shows in Texas, his radio tour and the upcoming release of his new CD, Kent doesn't seem to have any problems finding something to do. All the more reason we were happy that JD could take time out of his busy schedule to stop by and let us in on the latest.

In the first part of our conversation with John David Kent talked about his recent visit to France, and gave us some insight as to whether French women actually shave their armpits. More importantly, he talked about his newest single, 'Until We Turn Around'. He told us, "A common theme throughout the [new] album is I think is just kind of 'summertime', light-hearted, have a good time with your boys, with your girl, that kind of thing. And this song in particular is just one of those songs that - I hope anyway - for people, it's like, when you hear it, it's one of those songs that makes you want to roll the windows down, turn the radio up, sing out loud, and it talks about that in the song...it was good with the single dropping to in the middle of summer, you know, to come out with something like that.". Here's the first portion of our conversation:

The second part of our interview with John David Kent included a great in-studo performance of one of his new songs, 'You Struck a Nerve'. He also let us know the name of the new CD, 'Before the Sun Comes Up', due out October 1st. He also mentioned that the album was supposed to be out this month, but had a very good excuse for the delay. "Right before we went to Europe, we found out that we would be going through Thirty Tigers for distribution, so to do that...we just had to push the release date back. We're very psyched to be working with them. I think they'll bring a lot to the table, and it'll just be a great collaborative effort getting this out.".
