Jason Aldean's new album, 'Night Train,' has gone platinum for one million copies shipped. It's his fifth straight album to reach the certification, doing so quicker than 'My Kinda Party,' which has sold nearly three million copies since its release in 2010. 'Night Train' sold over 400,000 copies in its first week.

Only four other country albums have sold more copies in 2012, three of which were released long before Aldean's Oct. 16 release, like Luke Bryan's 2011 album. Taylor Swift's 'Red,' which followed 'Night Train' by a week, Carrie Underwood's 'Blown Away' and Lionel Richie's 'Tuskegee' are the only other 2012 country releases to go platinum this year.

'Night Train' features the No. 1 hit 'Take a Little Ride,' as well as his current Top 20 single 'The Only Way I Know,' featuring Eric Church and Byran. 2013 already looks to be a big year for Aldean, as he'll play four stadium shows after his tour begins on Feb. 21.

But first, on Dec. 21 he'll ring in the new year with Swift and Justin Bieber by playing 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve,' hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
