The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is already the largest exhibition of its kind in the world, but the 2012 event is shaping up to be the biggest yet. On Monday, the HLSR committee announced the 22 acts that will entertain more than two million folks over the span of a month, and the lineup includes many of country’s hottest acts, including Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan and more.

Year after year, Texans — and non-Texans — flock to Space City to catch a hodgepodge of performers, which is always heavy on the country side, given that it’s a good ol’ fashioned rodeo. This year at the 2012 Houston Rodeo, Aldean, Paisley and Bryan will take the stage, as will Alabama, Lady Antebellum, Eli Young Band, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, Zac Brown Band, the Band Perry and Alan Jackson. Phew!

And if that’s not enough to wet your whistle, the Houston Rodeo is home to dozens of delicious barbecue vendors, a cook-off, a full livestock show and a carnival, bringing the honky-tonk experience full circle. The event runs Feb. 28 – March 18 with a different performer each night. Tickets for the 2012 Houston Rodeo will be available through Ticketmaster.
