Between his big box-office roles and numerous awards, "writer" isn't what one initially thinks to ponder Jamie Foxx. That may change in the future, as Deadline has announced that the 'Django Unchained' star will co-write a new drama for TNT with former 'Numbers' executive producer and fellow Oscar-winner Robert Port.

Dubbed simply 'Hit,' the new drama focuses on two former high school football teammates and friends who find themselves “drafted” by the Miami police department and assigned to its High Impact Team, the titular "HIT." According to Deadline, "the same shorthand that made them unstoppable on the gridiron makes them great partners." Foxx and Port will also executive produce along with Foxx’s producing partner Jaime King.

It isn't likely that Jamie Foxx would appear in any regular role on the series, but could a few guest appearances be out of the question? Tell us if you'd tune in for Jamie Foxx's latest venture 'Hit' in the comments!
