Peeps…those cute little marshmallow bunnies and chicks are on the store shelves right now. Tempting little critters and they have a long history. PEEPS are made by the Just Born Company the same company that makes Mike and Ikes and Hot Tamales. PEEPS have been around since the ’50′s and they haven’t lost their popularity.

In 1953, Just Born acquired the Rodda Candy Company of Lancaster, PA. Although Rodda was best known for its jelly beans, it also made a small line of marshmallow products that included a popular
Easter Peep that was made by laboriously hand-squeezing marshmallow through pastry tubes.
I remember in college a group of us were headed to the beach for spring break and we had boxes of PEEPS with us. There were 2 cars (guys were in one, girls in the other) we had to take the ferry across to the beach house, as we waited for the ferry all of a sudden little PEEPS come flying through the sun roof…the guys of course had found away to entertain themselves and waste our PEEPS!! Anyway, I advise eating the critters myself. They are fun, and low in calories too.
Did you know that PEEPS have been the #1 selling NON-CHOCOLATE Easter candy for over 20 years? I found some PEEPS trivia and took the quiz and I am Marshmallow Wary, apparently I have eaten PEEPS but I’m not an expert on them.
Now if you read all of this I gave you the answers to a couple of the quiz questions, so go take the quiz and see how you do. By the way Easter is Sunday April 24th!!
