Herman Webb, brother of Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle, has died. He was 83 years old; his cause of death was not revealed.

According to an Instagram post from Gayle, Webb died on Saturday (July 28) in Kentucky "with his wonderful children around him." Born on Sept. 3, 1934, he was the third-oldest of the Webb siblings, following a brother named Melvin (born in 1929) and Lynn (born in 1932).

The Tennessean reports that Herman Webb was in charge of the family's home in Van Lear, Ky., often serving as a tour guide of sorts for the fans who ventured to the area to see where Lynn and Gayle grew up.

"I'm amazed at the number of people who come here to see this," Webb said in a 2002 (quote via the Tennessean). "I've seen 200 to 300 cars drive up this hollow on certain days."

According to Gayle's Instagram post, Webb was also musically inclined.

"I called Herman 'The Sheriff of Butcher Hollow.' I even found him a badge to make it 'official,'" Gayle writes. "I know he is now and forever a sheriff in Heaven. We love and miss you, Herman!"

Webb's funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. In addition to Lynn and Gayle, he is survived by his sisters Peggy and Betty; one of his brothers, Donald, died in 2017.
