Heath Bar Cake – Shay’s Recipe of the Week
This is a super simple recipe for a cake. You need a cake mix, cool whip and a couple of Heath Bars. It’s delicious but not overly sweet. You can make this last minute or a day ahead because it keeps in the refrigerator.
- 1 box cake mix
- 1 tub Cool Whip
- 2-3 regular size Heath Candy Bars
Bake your cake according to the box. We like to use a German Chocolate cake mix but whatever suits your fancy will work. Let cake cool down but not completely. You want it a little warm. Use a wooden spoon handle to poke holes throughout the cake.
While the cake is warm (not hot) smooth on your Cool Whip. The cake being slightly warm will allow some of the Cool Whip to melt into the cake.
Break up your Heath Bars into small pieces and sprinkle over the top of the cake. Serve now or place in refrigerator and serve later.
Note: This is also great with crumbled Oreo cookies on top. Make changes according to your tastes, let your imagination go!
