There's no question that Hank Williams Jr. belongs onstage in a front of a crowd. Since a young age, the singer has been involved in the country music world, following in the footsteps of his late father, Hank Williams, while also forging his own remarkable path.

From 1964 until 1975, Williams Jr., nicknamed Bocephus, released more than two dozen albums in the style of his father. Singing his dad's songs and those that sounded like him brought the singer success, but not to a superstardom level.

So, Williams Jr. decided to shake things up with Hank Williams Jr. and Friends. The project was inspired by his exploration of Southern rock and featured, among others, Charlie Daniels and Toy Caldwell, a founding member of the Marshall Tucker Band. The reinvention worked: Between 1979 and 1992, Williams Jr. notched eight No. 1 singles and six No. 1 albums, and had all of his records released during that time frame (17 in total) earn either gold or platinum certification. He won also seven CMA Awards, six ACM Awards and one Grammys trophy.
