In theory, Halloween produces future customers for dentists. Other than that, the candy-coated holiday and dentist offices don't generally have a whole lot in common. But the "Candy For Those Over Land-y" candy drive offers the opportunity to change that, and show support for our troops, at the same time.

Through Friday, November 2nd, "Candy For Those Over Land-y" gives children the opportunity to share their extra Halloween candy with Dyess troops overseas. The event, sponsored by Abilene Pediatric Dental Associates, invites kids to bring the extra candy or unopened bags they score from trick-or-treating.

The candy drop off location is at Abilene Pediatric Dental, located at 4741 Buffalo Gap Road. Kids who donate will receive a "Smile Bag", filled with toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, stickers, and their choice of a toy. Not a bad trade, from a parent's perspective.
