The New York apartment building explosion from a week or so back left many without a home. Some of those folks now have GoFundMe pages set up to help them get back on their feet. A single mom and her 3 children are finding life after the devastation with over $90.000 in donations.

Diane McLean and her 3 children lucky were not home when the explosion happened but they have now been left with nothing. The building collapsed and was a total loss. While friends and family, of course, have stepped in to help so have strangers.

In fact, Diane has been amazed at the kindness of people from all over the US donating to the GoFundMe page that was set up in her honor. Many people donating $20 at a time to bring her current tally to over $91,000.

Diane lived in a rent controlled (not subsidized) apartment for 36 years. It was her childhood home and then the home she was raising her own family in. They lost so much, not just clothes, furniture, and everyday items but also sentimental things as well. Diane lost the guitar her late father used to play, the piano she learned on, family photos, and priceless art work. So things can be replaced some can't but the most important thing is they are all alive.

I believe, when it's important, people step up to help those who need it. If you would like to make a donation to Diane or to some of the other building residents check out the GoFundMe page. Scroll to the bottom of Diane's, she has others accts. listed as well.
