Well, this is an odd play for the Trade Federation. Just as 'Glee' fans began holding their breath for FOX to complete negotiations for a fifth season of the FOX musical hit, word has broken that the broadcast network has instead opted for a whopping two additional seasons. Seasons 5 and 6 may not be the last we've heard from 'Glee' either, so get the latest inside!

'Glee's' future had never been in any real doubt, even as the series' current fourth season seemed to reach a breaking point of character positioning and contracts to re-negotiate. Now, we've learned from Entertainment Weekly that 'Glee' has in fact negotiated for a two-season pickup, carrying 'Glee' seasons 5 and 6 into at least 2015.

“'Glee' debuted as the first and only successful musical comedy series on television, and more than four years later, it continues to defy genres, break new ground and have a significant impact on popular culture,” said Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly. “Week in and week out, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, Dante DiLoreto and the entire 'Glee' team deliver a series that not only delights and surprises fans, but also inspires them to talk about, share, debate and engage with the show – and I’m absolutely thrilled to have them on board for another two seasons.”

No word yet how the two new seasons will shake out as far as cast and locations, though 'Glee' season 6 shouldn't necessarily be seen as the final year. FOX will most likely make that decision toward the end of season 6.

Well, what say you? Is your mind blown that 'Glee' will return for at least two more seasons? Where do you think they should take the story next?
