Who doesn't like Girl Scout cookies? When they knock on your door, catch you going into a store or their parents hunt you down at work, you buy enough boxes that you can freeze them just to get you through to the next season. Well, it's that season once again and this year there's a new cookie, new packaging and the ability to take credit cards.

The cookie season runs from January 11th-February 24th. Girl Scouts sell cookies in order to learn skills to make them successful leaders. Skills like "goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics".

The 2013 Cookie Season will feature a new cookie this year called Mango Crème with Nutrifusion™. It is a crunchy vanilla and coconut cookie with a mango-flavored crème filling. It also contains nutrients and vitamins from fruits like cranberries, pomegranates, oranges, and grapes. I just sampled one and they are out of this world! My co-worker Rudy says "they are yummy grown up cookies".

The new packaging, the first since 1999, will feature all of the skills that the Scouts represent; goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. It will also feature the awards that the girls aspire to; Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. The awards represent the skill achievements of the girls throughout their Scouting career. This years packaging is also more Eco-friendly.

The latest technology will allow the girls to now take credit cards on the spot via Sage Mobile Devices. If you are like me and never have cash on you then just hand over your card and the girls will take care of the rest.
