Late last year we were ecstatic to learn that one-time 'The X-Files' star and all-around fan-favorite Gillian Anderson would return to broadcast TV with a multi-episode arc in Bryan Fuller's forthcoming 'Hannibal' adaptation, though the appointment wasn't permanent. Now, it seems the guest stint has paid off as Anderson had joined an upcoming NBC pilot from 'Life' creator Rand Ravich, and co-starring '666 Park Avenue's Rachael Taylor. Find out about Agent Scully Gillian Anderson's big new role inside!

Though NBC will soon feature 'X-Files' star Gillian Anderson as therapist to 'Hannibal' himself, the former Agent Scully may come to TV in a much more regular capacity. The Hollywood Reporter claims that Anderson has officially joined an upcoming drama thriller pilot from Rand Ravich, taking the role of a CEO with a dark secret.

Written by Ravich, the conspiracy drama itself follows on an "unlikely puppeteer who will bring everyone from CEOs to the President of the United States to their knees by threatening the things they hold most dear."

Anderson will play Meg Fitch, CEO and mother to Amber, who becomes horrified to learn of the mass abduction of her daughter and her private school classmates. Long estranged from her sister, Susie (Taylor), with whom she shares a shocking secret, Meg will use her own intelligence and judgment to do whatever it takes to get her daughter back. Taylor will play Agent Susie Dunn, the FBI agent tasked with recovering her niece and her classmates, and a central figure in the series overall.

Well, what say you? Are you excited to see Gillian Anderson starring in her own series again on NBC? Will you tune in for her 'Hannibal' guest arc?
