George Strait Believes ‘Love Is Everything’ is His Best CD in a While

George Strait's 40th album, 'Love Is Everything,' is now available, and if there's one thing that King George wants to make clear about this effort, it's that he doesn't plan to fade quietly into retirement. His goal is still to make his best record ever.

In a recent interview, Strait talked about the new CD, his 'Cowboy Rides Away' tour, and reflects on his illustrious career. He says,

"Every time I go into the studio, I wanna make the best album I've ever done in my life, so you always search for those songs to make that happen in the studio when you go in there."

Although he worked on the new album with many of the same collaborators he's used in the past, George talks about what he's done on 'Love is Everything' that makes it different from albums he released earlier in his career.

"The only difference now is that I'm writing more than I used to. I don't want an album to go by now that I don't have at least one song on it that I've written. And hopefully more than that."

Strait goes on to say:

"I’ve been doing this a long time and 40 is a lot of records. It's always fun putting together songs for a new record. It can also be difficult at times. This one was both for sure, but worth every minute. I think it's my best release in a while. I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.”

The first single from Strait's 40th studio album is 'Give It All We Got Tonight,' which is currently in the Top 10 and poised to be his 60th No. 1 hit.

Strait's farewell tour has drawn record attendance, selling out all of its 20 dates so far in 2013. While the final date of this year's leg of the 'Cowboy Rides Away Tour' wraps in San Antonio June 1st, it will pick back up and continue through 2014 before George officially calls it a day on his touring career.
