The last time country music fans saw George Strait and Garth Brooks together on the same stage was when George Strait was inducted as Artist of the Decade in May 2009. Now, it appears the Academy of Country Music Association (ACM) has done it again. On Sunday April 7th, the two country music giants will appear together again on the same stage.

The Academy and the Dick Clark productions announced that George Strait and Garth Brooks will perform together for the first time in the history of country music. The two country music giants will pay tribute to Dick Clark. Why Dick Clark? Because Clark was the lone producer of the ACM Awards show until his passing. The ceremony will be co-hosted by Luke Brian and Blake Shelton and will honor country music's top talent while paying tribute to Dick Clark.

Who can forget the memorable backstage interview when Garth talked for the first time about giving George Strait a hug but instead chose to shake his hand for fear of "breaking Strait in half." Check out the rest of the vintage backstage interview from 2009.
