Even though Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood won't be sharing the bill during Brooks' upcoming three-year stadium tour, that doesn't mean the country couple won't be together on the road. In fact, at Brooks' recent Notre Dame Stadium stop, Yearwood put her own spin on the pre-show party with her own tailgating event.

"Trisha has furniture. She has a cooking line. She has her cooking show. She does these food demos and wine tastings all over the country," Brooks explained during a media event in advance of his Notre Dame show. "So I was like, 'Come in and do a tailgate under a big-a-- tent, right there on campus ... I think that's gonna be the highlight of the day, not being humble, just thinking that that's the cool part."

Although Brooks and Yearwood previously joined forces on his 2014-2017 World Tour, Brooks insists the decision not to include his wife in his upcoming run isn't due to a lack of interest from the fans; in fact, it's quite the opposite.

"The one comment we kept getting on the comeback tour is 'I wish Trisha would've played longer,'" he goes on to say. "To have her come out and do three or four songs and be gone -- her love for music is deeper than that."

While she may appear as an occasional surprise guest during his stadium shows, Brooks says that Yearwood has bigger plans in the works. The country star has been in the studio in 2018, and will soon have new music of her own to promote -- "so she's probably got her own tour she's announcing," he hints.

No matter what lies ahead for Yearwood and Brooks, they will continue to support each other and spend time together on the road. "She gave me three and a half years of her life to do what I wanted [during the World Tour]," Brooks points out. "So she wants to tour ... and I should be with her. I think I'm going to spend a lot of the next three years backstage, hoping my wife is having the time of her life."
