Songwriters are so often overlooked for the great songs they pen, especially if they do not record the songs themselves. The singers get all the accolades. The Songwriters Hall of Fame inductions were held this past week and Garth Brooks was honored. Sometimes you get a singer and songwriter wrapped into one, that would be Garth Brooks. He was just

inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and it was Billy Joel who inducted him.
Why is it significant that Billy Joel inducted Brooks? Well he just happened to have been the person who wrote the song “Shameless”. A song that was a huge hit for Brooks in 1991.
Others inducted into the Hall included Leon Russell, John Bettis, Billy Steinberg, Tom Kelly and AllenToussaint.
