Hot off the heels of a free Nashville show that was full of surprises, Garth Brooks stopped by Good Morning America on Friday (Oct. 28) to talk about his world tour, wife Trisha Yearwood and play a game with hosts Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Lara Spencer.

Between showing off a Halloween photo of Yearwood and their daughters dressed as the members of the band KISS and a live performance from the star, the hosts congratulated the legendary singer on his seven diamond certified albums.

“We’re lucky enough to be in front of the most loyal format, the most loyal audience - that’s the country music audience,” Brooks says. “I’ll put them up against anybody, they’re the bomb. I love them.” He was also given the Good Morning America Diamond Guitar Award.

Later in the show, he took the GMA stage for an upbeat performance of his latest single, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance,” off his new album Gunslinger, which is due out on Nov. 25.

“It’s so much fun. It’s kind of a reflection of the live show … so now anytime you go in the studio it’s just going to be high energy and high volume” the superstar tells Roberts of his new music.

Brooks has been on the road for two years on the Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood. He recently partnered with Amazon Music to begin streaming his music online and revealed the details on another upcoming project, Garth Brooks: The Ultimate Collection, a 10-disc set that includes his chart-topping hits and 18 previously unreleased songs. It will be available exclusively at Target.
