‘Game of Thrones’ Creator Says “F— You” to People Who Think He’ll Die Before Finishing Series

One of the things that fans of both ‘Game of Thrones‘ and the book series on which the show is based often joke about is that author and creator George R.R. Martin might pass away before completing the novels … and for those people, Martin has some choice words.

In an interview with Swiss newspaper Tagesanzeiger, Martin was asked what he thought of those people who speculate that he might die before he finishes the final books in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series that inspired the hit ‘Game of Thrones’ TV show on HBO. His response was pretty blunt and amazing:

I find that question pretty offensive, people speculating about my death and health. So f— you to those people.

Martin is also said to have flipped his middle finger for emphasis while making his statement. The author is currently at work on ‘The Winds of Winter,’ the sixth book in the series, which will be followed by the seventh book, ‘A Dream of Spring.’ Release dates for both books have not been set as of yet, but fans are hopeful that ‘The Winds of Winter’ will hit shelves sometime in 2015 or 2016. The first book in the series, ‘A Game of Thrones,’ was originally released way back in 1996.

At the age of 65, Martin still has plenty of years left ahead of him to finish the final two books in his series, so knock off your speculating about his health or else you’ll get the bird, okay?
