Fundraiser Planned To Restore Childhood Home Of Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash grew up in the city of Dyess, Arkansas and Arkansas State University has purchased that home. Now a festival is planned to raise the money to restore the home. The show is going to be held August 4, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  Johnny’s son and daughter Roseanne are helping plan the event which will include many of Johnny’s old friends like Kris Kristofferson.  The proceeds will not only help restore the home but also help fund the Johnny Cash Boyhood Museum.

Roseanne says of the home and museum,

“I would like to see the authenticity of it preserved. You go and there’s something real there and it’s kept through the ages and just not cheapened and thrown away.”
