Frontier Day at the Abilene State Park is Saturday, November 3rd
The Abilene State Park is bringing back Frontier Day to the park this Saturday, November 3rd. There will be lots of fun activities for the entire family but more than that a good history lesson. Not only is it Frontier Day but also the 20th anniversary of the Buffalo Soldiers program.
The Frontier Day is part of a resurrection of our history so it's not forgotten. Children these days have so much technology at their hands they have no idea of what life was like back in the 1800's.
The Buffalo Soldiers program also promotes the contributions of the black soldier units of the 9th & 10th Cavalry and 24th & 25th Infantry of the U.S. Army. They will be making an appearance during the event Saturday.
Here are the details of the event.
