First Footage of Standalone Day Z Emerges

A new developer diary for Day Z has been released, and with it comes the first look at the standalone game in action.

Though there's still no solid release date in sight, nor any indication as to when a beta for Day Z will begin, this latest video gives a pretty deep look into some of the changes being made from the mod to the game. The biggest changes present in this fifteen minutes of footage are the new map (including swamps and military bases), and the reveal that scavengeable items can spawn behind other items.

Outside of a nice overview of the game world and some interesting clothing decisions, there isn't a whole lot to get excited about for those unfamiliar with Day Z. Fans of the mod however will enjoy seeing the time and effort being used to improve not just the look, but the size and scope of the game as well.
