Joe Paterno was fired after being caught up in the middle of an underage sex scandal. The world of College Football was not the only thing that was turned upside down as cars were overturned, sign posts were knocked down, and car windows were shattered when some Penn State students took the the streets and began rioting. The police were called in and when they lost control, had to begin pepper spraying some students who were upset with the firing.  Some students overturned a news van and blamed the media for the firing of their beloved coach.

Former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was charged over the weekend with 40 counts of sexual abuse of children, including sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy in a campus shower in 2002. He says he is not guilty. Paterno learned of the 2002 incident, but passed the matter along to the school’s athletic director and never called the cops.

The investigation still continues, but Joe Paterno is out as head coach of Penn State just a day after saying he would step down after the season was over.

Here is a look at the riot in pictures.  Do you think Joe Paterno should have been fired?

I’ve also included the video of the crowd tipping over the news fan.
