It takes me about four and a half hours to mow my three and a half acre yard. So when my son ran across this video of a lawnmower that can reach speeds of 130 MPH, he said "dad your prayers are answered." Not quite, It seems Honda, Top Gear magazine and racing engineering Team Dynamics, built a high performance riding mower capable of reaching speeds up to 130 mph. The mower is called the 'Mean Mower' and can go from 0 to 60 MPH in just four seconds flat.

But don't rush out to the store to get one yet, seems the manufacturer says they will not produce the 'Mean Mower' in it's current configuration for public consumption, so much for a new Olympic speed-mowing sport. However, for a lawnmower to reach those kinds of speeds, they installed a 1,000cc motorcycle engine and the metal body was replaced with fiberglass to shave off weight. Unfortunately, you can't cut the grass doing 130 MPH either, the mowing deck only works if you're going slower than 15MPH. For now, the closest a you and I will get to this Mean Machine is by living vicariously through the driver in the videos below.
