The Baird Chamber of Commerce (COC) is hosting the 2nd Annual "Summer Sizzle Cookoff" in historic downtown Baird in front of the old Train Depot. The 18th Annual Rising Star Oktoberfest celebration will take place at Colquitt Williams Park in Rising Star. The event is scheduled for October 12th, beginning at 8:00am and will include a dance, live music, a cook-off, "Jack Pot Pinto Bean" and pecan pie baking competitions. All monies raised benefit the Rising Star Chamber of Commerce.
