DESCRIPTION:The "Free Immunization Clinics" and the "Care Vans" are a direct result of several organizations working together to offer these services in Abilene. Through a coordinated effort\, the "Caring for Children Foundation of Texas\, Inc."\, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and the Medical Care Mission are all directly responsible for helping immunize many Abilene and West Texas Children over the years. Now The Care Van is holding another immunization clinic on Thursday February 7th at 1857 Pine Street.    The "Free Immunization Clinics" are not for everyone\, if your child is eligible if he or she is an American Indian or Alaskan native\, has no insurance\, has insurance that does not cover vaccine\, or has Medicaid. If your child is covered by insurance that covers vaccines\, the child is not eligible for this free service. DESCRIPTION:The students of the newly formed Hardin-Simmons Bachelor of Fine Arts program will present "Hello\, Dolly!" this Thursday\, February 14th thru Sunday\, February 24th. You don't want to miss this popular Hollywood and Broadway production.    The play is set in turn-of-the-century New York\, and revolves around the widowed matchmaker Dolly Levi. Levi is trying to find a suitable wife for the well known "half-millionaire" Horace Vandergelder. However\, it seems that Levi wants Vandergelder for herself.    The production will\, of course\, include the musical numbers "Elegance"\, "It Only Takes a Moment"\, "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" and "Hello\, Dolly!". The title song was made famous in 1964 as it became a #1 hit for Louis Armstrong. The musical is probably best known for it's 1969 screen adaptation in which Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau played the main characters\, Dolly and Horace.    "Hello\, Dolly!" will be under the direction of Ronald Dean Nolen and musical direction of Barry Smoot. SUMMARY:Western Heritage Classic
DESCRIPTION:It's time to start making plans for this year's Western Heritage Classic.  There's a lot that goes on during the Classic and it's all geared toward the cowboy lifestyle and history. It's a three day event that is a throwback to the way it was long ago.     Things get kicked off on Thursday May 9th with the parade downtown and continue throughout the weekend with the worlds largest bit and spur show\, a chuckwagon cookoff\, matched horse races\, children's rodeo\, cowboy poets and western artisans\, ranch horse clinics\, and trade shows. There is also the Ranch Horse Association of America's National Finals during the weekend of events.    There are concerts to featuring great Texas music. This year you will find The Dirty River Boys performing Friday night and Bleu Edmondson on Saturday night.    This is fun for the entire family so don't miss out.
