Dolly Parton will be hitting the road this summer, on her largest North American tour in more than 20 years, and she's revealed the first set of dates for the trek. The country icon will begin the first leg of her Pure & Simple Tour on June 3.

Parton's first Pure & Simple Tour stop will take place in Greensboro, N.C., but she's also announced stops all along the East Coast, in Ohio, New York, Virginia and more. According to a press release, the tour's first leg will include a total of 16 dates, 14 of which have already been revealed; a complete list of those already-announced dates is below, and more information is available on Parton's official website.

Although she's launching a pretty extensive trek, Parton admits that she "wasn’t really planning to do a tour this year."

"I thought, ‘Well, I don’t really have the time; I don’t want to take the time to work up some big show with all kinds of stuff behind [it],'” Parton admits. “[But] I know I can sing. I know I’ve got all these songs … And I thought, ‘Well, I have my stories. I have my songs.'”

The singer's shows will be largely acoustic, allowing her voice to take center stage.

“I’ll do a lot of talking. What else would I do, right?” she jokes. “We’re excited about the whole show. We did some shows at the Ryman last year and some shows at Dollywood for the Imagination Library, and we used the Pure & Simple show. We’ve added some new things to it, of course, but people really liked it. They said they could hear good, they could see good. We’re excited about that.”

Parton's tour will also coincide with the release of a new double-disc album, Pure & Simple With Dolly’s Biggest Hits, which will include some brand-new songs as well as several beloved classics. An exact release date has not yet been announced, but a press release notes that the project is expected this summer.
