Dolly Parton graced the 2017 Emmy Awards stage on Sunday night (Sept. 17), arm in arm with her 9 to 5 co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Together, the three women presented the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie.

As Parton, Fonda and Tomlin walked out onstage, they earned a standing ovation from the crowd of celebrities gathered at the 2017 Emmy Awards ceremony. Fonda and Tomlin, who currently co-star in the Netflix original series Grace and Frankie, started their stage time with a political message: "Back in 1980, in that movie, we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot," Fonda said, as Tomlin added, "and in 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying hypocritical bigot." Their remarks earned cheers from the audience.

Before presenting the Outstanding Supporting Actor trophy, Parton -- in true Dolly fashion -- offered up a couple of slightly off-color jokes: "Well, I know about support," she joked, riffing on the category name. Reader can watch the trio's full onstage moment via Jezebel.

The film 9 to 5 became a big hit following its release in 1980: It grossed over $3.9 million on its opening weekend in the U.S., and, as country fans know, the movie’s title song, penned by Parton, became one of the biggest hits of her career. Parton won two Grammys (Best Country Song and Best Country Vocal Performance, Female), received two Golden Globes nominations and went to Broadway because of the film.

At the 2017 Emmy Awards, Parton, Tomlin and Fonda were all nominated for various awards, though none won. Parton's Coat of Many Colors: Circle of Love TV movie was up for Outstanding Television Movie, which went to Black Mirror: San Junipero.
