Dolly Parton and Linda Perry's "Girl in the Movies" has received a nomination at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards. The song is up for Best Original Song at the upcoming awards show.

"Girl in the Movies" comes from Dumplin', the new Netflix movie, based on the best-selling novel by Julie Murphy, about a plus-size girl who throws her hat into the ring for a beauty pageant to prove a point to her former beauty queen mother, played by Jennifer Aniston. The soundtrack was released on Nov. 30, ahead of the movie's Dec. 7 premiere; the 12-track record features six re-imagined Parton classics, plus six new songs written by Parton and Perry.

In the Best Original Song category at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards, the other nominees are: "All the Stars," from Black Panther; "Requiem for a Private War," from A Private War; "Revelation," from Boy Erased; and "Shallow," from A Star Is Born.

The Golden Globe Awards honor film and American television projects, as selected by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The 2019 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Jan. 6 and air live from Beverly Hills, Calif., on NBC beginning at 8PM ET. Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg will host.
