This is not the first time I've heard of family pets being attacked by wild predators in town. It happened to me recently here in Abilene, wherein a coyote attacked our family cat in our backyard.

The above video shows two adorable Yorkshire Terriers in their own backyard, when out of nowhere a wild bobcat climbs over a six-foot picket fence. As the two dogs come around a flower pot, the bobcat fatally attacked one of the dogs.

The Richardson, Texas homeowner's sole intent for releasing his security camera video, was to raise awareness for other pet owners in Texas.

Aaron Vannoy the Director of the Abilene Animal Control Shelter says there have been several similar attacks reported here in Abilene too. Aaron said "there's been two coyote attacks on the north side and three bobcat attacks on the south side of Abilene recently."

He credits the drought for the increase of wild predators in town. Vannoy advises pet owners to not feed outside and take up water dishes when possible.
