Dierks Bentley performed new single "Woman, Amen" at the 2018 ACM Awards in Las Vegas Sunday night (April 15) — a performance that ended with a surprise embrace with his wife.

Cassidy Black, Bentley's wife, was the inspiration for his 2016 album Black, which also contained the No. 1 single of the same name. For this performance, Bentley dressed in all black — most likely a tribute to his wife — and had a grand performance with a seven-piece band and full light show.

The powerful "Woman, Amen" lends itself to big stage works, but the lyrics bring it back to a soft sensibility that Bentley has become known for.

"This world has a way of shaking your faith / I've been broken again and again / But I need all the cracks in my shattered heart / 'Cause that's where her love gets in / Every night I should be on my knees / Lord knows how lucky I am / I'll never say near enough / Thank God for this woman, Amen," he sings in a song that everyone can tie to a woman in their lives.

At the end, Bentley touched hands with members of the crowd before walking over to his wife for a kiss and hug in front the entire ACM Awards crowd. Luke Bryan, who was seated next to his wife Caroline, were also seated near Bentley's wife, so Bryan made sure to razz the country star and go in for a kiss of his own, which Bentley declined.

Besides the performance, Bentley is also nominated for ACM Video of the Year for "Black."
