Dierks Bentley's Sounds of Summer tour may be the hottest tour in country music ... literally. The run of dates kicks off on Friday (June 5) in Raleigh, N.C., and it's the biggest production the "Say You Do" singer has ever known. During a tour rehearsal this week in Nashville, Bentley shared some of his new toys.

Most impressively, fans will see fire — and lots of it. "Up on the Ridge" is one song that involves pyrotechnics. “This is our first time having this big of a show, this big of a production," Bentley says, "and it’s been kind of fun to have this new challenge of the possibility of getting hurt. More so than usual.”

Other things fans can expect include a bluegrass-tinged cover of a very non-bluegrass song. We suggested Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood," and he didn't say no. Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" appears to be out, however.

Maddie & Tae, Canaan Smith and Kip Moore will open for Bentley. The four acts christened the tour last winter by jumping into a freezing cold lake together. Then, Moore got revenge on the forced polar plunge by putting a goat in Bentley's truck. The 39-year-old says the "I'm to Blame" singer can expect retaliation.

"Oh, we got lots of things planned for Kip, for sure," Bentley says, smiling but not joking. He adds that all three openers will join him on stage for at least one song. The Sounds of Summer tour made Taste of Country's list of Hot Summer Tours for 2015.
