I hit the streets over the weekend with the intention of meeting people in Abilene and the Big Country. So when I was driving down South Clack and saw the Easter Bunny, a Clown and a BBQ pit at the side of the road (sounds like the start of a bad joke, doesn't it?) I had to stop and investigate.

For Barbie and Jennifer, a bunny costume and clown suit aren't just regular Saturday apparel. They're trying to raise money to help Devon Clark, a 15-year old kid who was involved in a bad car accident in February and has been in the hospital for over a month. Ten surgeries later, Devon's condition is slowly improving, but it's going to be a long (and expensive) road to recovery. Check out the video. The clown explains the situation nicely.

The raffle prize drawings will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 3:00pm The Pizza House in Clyde. You don't need to be present to win, but if you can make it, there will be additional door prizes given away, and free pizza. It's also a great way to show support to a Big Country family going through a tough time.

Be sure to go to Devon's Blessings on Facebook for the latest information, and to get details on the raffle. We wish Devon and his family the very best, and I'm grateful to Barbie and Jennifer for letting me come and hang out with them.
