Dallas Cowboys linebacker, Rolando McClain has been suspended for the first 4 games of the 2015 season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

According to CBS Sports, the NFL handed down the suspension today which McClain apologized for.

"I apologize to my family, the Cowboys organization, my teammates and Cowboys fans for my mistakes," McClain said in a statement. "I will not break the rules of my profession in the future and I regret my error. I look forward to returning to the field in Week 5, when I hope to help my team beat the Patriots." (via CBS)

McClain, who has retired from football twice, was traded to the Cowboys from Baltimore in 2014. He immediately had an impact in Dallas recording 108 tackles as well as anchoring a defense that went well over expectations in 2014.

The suspension means that the Cowboys will be without two starters now as newly signed Greg Hardy will be serving a 10-game suspension.

Do you think the Cowboys defense is doomed now or will they be alright?
