Dallas Cowboys Fan Sues Team After Burning Herself on a Stadium Bench

A Dallas Cowboys fan has filed a lawsuit against the team after she suffered severe burns on her rear end while sitting on a bench outside of Cowboys Stadium.

Jenelle Carillo, from Cleburne Texas, apparently, was sitting on a black bench outside of the stadium during a Dallas Cowboys scrimmage in August of 2010, as temperatures reached over 100 degrees.

Here lawsuit states:

“The bench was uncovered and openly exposed to the extremely hot August sun. The combination of the nature of the black, marble bench and hot sunlight caused the bench to become extremely hot and unreasonably dangerous.”

The woman said that she knew she had been burned, but did not know how bad it was until she saw a doctor about. It was then that it was discovered she had suffered third degree burns on her backside and had to have skin grafts.

Um, OK. How in the world do you sit on a black bench in the scorching heat and not know that it’s hot? I mean, she had to know it was pretty dang hot as she sat on it, right? It reminds me of that story a long time ago when someone sued McDonald’s after they took a drink of some coffee that was too hot. It’s obvious that coffee is going to be hot, just like it should be obvious that a black bench in over 100 degree temperatures is, more than likely, going to be hot! I don’t get it.

I guess there should have been a warning on the bench to say “Warning: Black Bench Could Be Hot If Over 100 Degrees Outside”, or something along those lines. Unbelievable!
