The Dallas Cowboys suffered the worst collapse in franchise history by letting the Detroit Lions come back to win after being down by 24 points in the second half. Everything was going the Cowboys way as Tony Romo hit Dez Bryant on a pair of touchdown passes in the first half.  The Cowboys were up 20-3 after a half of play and were up 27-3 with 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter when it all fell apart for the Cowboys.

Tony Romo threw 3 TD passes to tie Danny White’s Cowboy record for the most 3 TD passes in a game but it was 3 other passes that completely destroyed them.  After being up 27-3 after a Romo to Witten touchdown, Romo threw 3 interceptions, with two of them going back for TD’s and, just like that, the Lions comeback was on.

Even after those two interception returns for TD’s, it was only 27-17 but the momentum was all on the Lions side.  Dallas managed to kick a field goal to stop the bleeding a little bit to end the third quarter but the Lions were not done.

The Calvin Johnson show started in the fourth quarter.  Matthew Stafford literally threw the ball up in the air for Johnson who leaped up over 3 Cowboy  defenders to snag the first of his 2 TD’s in the fourth quarter. After another Tony Romo interception, the Lions got a field goal to make it 30-27.  Then another Calvin Johnson touchdown sealed the deal as the Cowboys could not do anything with the ball.

Tony Romo ended up 34-47 for 331 yards with 3 TD’s but it was his 3 interceptions that paved the way for the collapse.

Here’s a recap of the game in pictures.  Do you think the Cowboys are done already for the season?  Will Romo bounce back? Comment below.
