The Dallas Cowboys barely beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16-10 to improve to 2-1 on the season.  But, it was far from a good game as plenty of mistakes were made on both teams.

Man, I thought this was going to be another crappy loss with the way it started out.  An interception thrown by Tony Romo, a touchdown by the Bucs, and all of a sudden it was 7-0 even before I cracked open my fist beer. The defense, which seems to be the only bright spot for the Cowboys this year so far, finally started to click, and shut down a decent Buccaneers offense.  However, the offense has only shown flashes of playing good football and they continue to make mistake after mistake.

What in the heck is wrong with the Dallas Cowboys? Why so many mistakes?  You would think that in the third game of the season, the would be a better disciplined team.  But time after time, the Cowboys seemed to shoot themselves in the foot, more often than not, with stupid penalties - mainly offside penalties.   The 'Boys had 15 penalties in the game, four of those from one offensive lineman, Doug Free.

It's a good thing that it was just the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Don't get me wrong, the Bucs are improved this year, but, the Cowboys were supposed to be as well.  I guess I should be thankful that it was a win and the Cowboys are 2-1 and lead the division right now.  But, I can't help but think that with a little bad luck against the Giants and Bucs, we could be sitting at 0-3 just as easy because of the sloppy,  undisciplined players we are seeing right now.  Even Jason Witten is having problems.  He had two offside penalties, as well as 3 dropped passes which gives him 7 dropped balls for the year.

The running game stinks (28th in the league), the passing game is not consistent(13th in the league), and the penalties just keep adding up. At least the defense is showing signs of dominance.  We may need to lean on the D this  year.  And, like I said, at least we are 2-1 because it could definitely be worse.

The Cowboys play Chicago this Monday night, then have a bye week. Here are some pictures of the game which include a few of the Dallas Cowboys' most valuable assets - the cheerleaders.
