Marriage Proposal Goes Horribly Wrong During Cubs Game

A Chicago Cubs fan named Greg wanted to give his girlfriend a marriage proposal that she’d never forget. So he popped the question via the video scoreboard during a game on Monday night at Wrigley Field. There was just one problem — she wasn’t in her seat at the time.
Turns out, Greg’s lady love left her seat in the middle of the fifth inning to buy drinks and completely missed the message which read, “Erica, will you marry me?” Meanwhile, the unlucky man, who traveled all the way from Great Falls, Montana with his girlfriend for their first Cubs game, sat awkwardly until she returned. Poor guy!
Eventually, the errant would-be bride made it back to her seat and when the message ran again, Greg got down on one knee and proposed. Fortunately, she said yes. And it’s a good thing too. We doubt Greg could have taken any further embarrassment.
Watch the proposal fail below.
