As anyone who has watched a fair amount of movies can tell you, it’s a bad idea to mess with Anthony Hopkins. But that’s exactly what Nicholas Hoult does — however unwittingly — in the trailer for Collide, a new thriller that puts the Fury Road star back behind the wheel, this time to save the woman he loves, played by Felicity Jones. That’s perfectly fine, but the real attraction here is Ben Kingsley and whatever the hell he’s wearing.

Kingsley is up to his old theatrics, properly chewing up the scenery in his role as a drug smuggler with a gaudy sense of style — it’s the kind of thing Kingsley does best, and hopefully Collide can live up to his performance (or even just those sunglasses). The new thriller comes from Eran Creevy, the director of 2013’s surprisingly solid action flick Welcome to the Punch, starring James McAvoy and Mark Strong.

Here’s the official synopsis for Collide:

After a heist goes terribly wrong, Casey Stein (Nicholas Hoult) finds himself on the run from a ruthless gang headed by mob boss Hagen (Anthony Hopkins). Now Casey has precious cargo that belongs to Hagen, who will stop at nothing to retrieve it. Left with no choice, Casey calls his former employer and drug smuggler Geran (Ben Kingsley) to protect his long-time girlfriend Juliette before Hagen gets his hands on her. Casey sets out on an adrenaline-fueled car chase on the German highways to save the love of his life before it’s too late.

The trailer doesn’t look too exciting, especially after the teaser for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story made Felicity Jones look like such a badass. Collide puts her in the damsel in distress role as far as I can tell, but maybe Creevy’s latest thriller has a few tricks up its sleeve.

Collide hits theaters on August 19.
