On Cody Johnson's major-label debut album, Ain't Nothin' to Itthe Texas country singer includes a title track about good men with good morals. As Johnson explains to The Boot, those are the type of people he hopes his young girls will find when it's time to start dating.

David Lee and Leslie Satcher co-wrote "Ain't Nothin' to It." Johnson has a longstanding working relationship with Lee, and enjoyed the song's "smart-ass" flair. Read on to learn what drew Johnson to "Ain't Nothin' to It" and more.

I'm a little superstitious; although I don't believe in it, I am still superstitious. David Lee wrote the title tracks for all my records, so this was a David Lee song.

And I feel like it had a good moral compass -- the same kind of moral compass that [the first single from Ain't Nothin' to It], "On My Way to You," has. I have two daughters, so having those two men in "Ain't Nothing to It" talk about "Son, you can do it. You just have to chill out. Don’t argue with her all the time. Let her be right even though she's wrong sometimes. Close your mouth. Ease back on the smoking and drinking. Just love on her, be there for her" -- that kind of sentiment from those two men, are the type of man I hope my daughters find.

To be honest with you, the title track is sort of a smart-ass remark. I just imagine people asking me, "Mr. Johnson, what is the secret behind all the success you've seen in 2019?" And I smile and say, "Man, there ain't nothin' to it."
