In spite of their increasing pedigree, we haven't paid much attention to Cinemax's original series, but the latest additions to the pay cable network's upcoming drama series 'Quarry' have proven far too tempting to ignore. 'Die Hard' franchise star and 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World' babe Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined Cinemax's 'Quarry' in her first regular TV role since rising to fame, joining 'The Avengers' and 'Thor' star Stellan Skarsgard, among others.

Written by Graham Gordy and Michael D. Fuller, directed by John Hillcoat, and based on Max Allen Collins' '70s-set pulp detective novels, 'Quarry' follows the titular Vietnam War veteran (Logan Marshall Green) who earns his living as a remorseless hitman taking orders from a man called "The Broker" (Stellan Skarsgard). As revealed by The Wrap, Winstead will take the role of Quarry's wife Joni, one of the few to stand by her husband after he returns from the war.

'Game of Thrones' star Noah Taylor and 'The Good Wife''s Skipp Sudduth also co-star, while Keith Redmon ('Awake'), Steve Golin, David Kanter and Matt DeRoss are also attached as producers.

Well, what say you? Are you interested to check out Cinemax's latest original series now that 'Quarry' has contracted such a high-profile cast?
