The Callahan County 4-h shooting sports program, will be putting on a five stand shoot, Saturday, September the 8th at the Callahan County 4-H range. You can put your team together or shoot individually. The 4-H club will be offering a "Team 5-Stand", "Individual 5-Stand" and "Trap". The entry fees vary depending on how you choose to shoot.

Wynonna Judd's husband and drummer Cactus Moser, was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident last Saturday. The two were out riding their motorcycles just prior to Wynonna's concert in Deadwood, South Dakota. This is the tail of two labs, who are well trained, Sandy is are 11 years old while Runt is only 10 years old, both are fixed, housebroken and they make quite the pair. Both took to the leash and were ready for whatever came their way. Sandy the 65 pound female and Runt the 60 pound male didn't bark or tug on the leash and when big Larry (who works at the Animal Shelter) threw them two doggie biscuits, the fun was on. According to the lawsuit that was filed in district court in Nashville Tennessee, songwriter Bobby Carmichael and his friend Britton Curry say, their song is almost identical to 'Backwoods' with the same lyrics, pitch and rhythm as Justin’s hit song. Friday August 10th, firefighters battling the wildfires near Possum Kingdom Lake, called on the American Red Cross office in Abilene to assist by provide bottled water and Gatorade around the clock. Within hours, the local Red Cross volunteers had trucks loaded and were dispatched to Possum Kingdom. By Monday August 13th, supplies were beginning to diminish and the American Red Cross in Abilene was being asked to assist in the Tarrant and Johnson Counties area after last nights brutal storms.
