October 19, 2012 The Abilene Salvation Army (ASA) is in dire need of not only money but volunteers too. Community Development Director Lindsay Trook says "we desperately need volunteers to be bell-ringers, all you need is a smile and enthusiasm for ringing a bell next to the Salvation Army red kettle outside an Abilene retail store." October 16, 2012 You will react one of two ways, either "wow, look at all that money she is saving" or "are you kidding me, she should do this when all the check-outs are open! Somebody get me a manager, I'm not waiting behind this psycho shopper!" I know this because, it happened to me when I went to check out at the local Wal-Mart Super Center. I was struck behind an "extreme coupon shopper" who by the way saved about $330.00, and the couple behind me who flew into a rage and was demanding to see a manager. I had never seen extreme couponing in real life before.

October 12, 2012 Okay so I'm going along on a typical Wednesday morning radio show, when my morning-show partner Pete Beretta says "hey it's time for the forecast and I think I hear rain in the forecast this weekend." That's all he had to say because what happened next is all my fault. I asked him "Pete, how can you hear rain in a forecast, are you Neil Sedaka? Do you hear laughter in that rain Pete?" Bam! the song is now playing in my head, to make matters worse it's on repeat.
October 12, 2012 The Cultural Affairs Council (CAC), Children's Performing Arts Series (CPAS), is pround to present the first show for the 2012-2013 season. This musical adaptation from the original story by Charles Perrault follows the plot of the original fairy tale but has some surprises and it's humorous moments. The tale conveys that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and true goodness is found only in the heart. Sleeping Beauty is set for this Sunday, October 14th at the Paramount Theater.

This young (two and a half year old) wire-hair terrier mix is very smart, obviously cute and she is extremely lovable (as you can see in the photos).
