The Color Dash 5K Benefiting TSTC to be Held on Sweetwater Campus

Here is another chance for you to participate in a fun 5K with the Color Dash and help a great cause too. The Sweetwater TSTC Campus will host the event in September to benefit the Campus Save Act. The act consists of reporting, response and prevention education around rape, acquaintance rape, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.

The “Ghost of the Bayou” a Rare 6 Foot Albino Alligator Visits the Abilene Zoo

A very rare six foot albino alligator known as the "Ghost of the Bayou" has made the Abilene Zoo it's temporary home. Bill Gersonde, executive director of the Abilene Zoo says “these animals cannot survive in the wild on their own, and this is a terrific opportunity to learn all about the American alligator.” Jenny the albino alligator made her debut on Saturday May 24th and will be on display through the summer. Friends of the Abilene Public Library Annual Book Sale is June 19th – 22nd

Friends of the Abilene Public Library will host their gigantic annual book sale in June. The sale includes books, DVDs, videos, cassette tapes, CDs, records and so much more. The sale will be at the Abilene Civic Center with proceeds benefiting the Abilene Public Library. Hope and Faith are two beautiful dogs that need a gentle touch and a lot of love. Here's their story, they're two female pointers from a breeder in Albany that raises and trains hunting dogs. Hope and Grace were turned in because the breeder thinks they're too small for breeding stock. They've already begun their training and hunted this past season. The last ArtWalk I attended in downtown Abilene I discovered Fire Spinning a type of Fire Juggling. Bird Thomas with the Center for Contemporary Arts says "Michael Clyde has become a regular during ArtWalk as it starts getting dark Michael takes to the Street in front of the Center and performs his beautiful art."
