The National Down Syndrome Society and The Upside Down Club, Abilene's Down Syndrome support group, will be holding their annual 'Buddy Walk' on Saturday, October 11th. This event will provide a great opportunity for the Down Syndrome support groups in the Abilene area to get together and for the community to show support for those living with Down syndrome.

Abilene Animal Services will host a wine and dog fundraising event called 'Corks and Collars' Oct. 18th at 'The Winery at Willow Creek' in south Abilene. Here's your chance to relax with your pet and enjoy some fine wines. Take in some live music from Zach Harmon and Steven Ray Miller. Plus there's also a pet-costume contest, raffles, food and more. Abilene Animal Services, Rescue the Animals and several Humane societies and animal shelters from around the big country will gather this weekend for a huge animal adoption event. Every dog, cat, kitten and puppy within 19 counties will be in Abilene for Oct 3rd & 4th near the corner of Catclaw and Southwest Drive behind Red Robin.
Calling all mutts and family pets too, for an evening of fun and relaxation with a movie in the park. Festival Gardens will be the location and it's all a free event being put on by Abilene Animal Services. Here's more info.
The Abilene Alzheimer's Association is holding their annual "Walk to End Alzheimer’s" at the Rose Park Senior Center. The two-mile Walk will be kicked off by Mayor, Norm Archibald. The Big Country’s Elvis tribute artist Harvey McFadden will be the entertainment. Check out all the details.
